For many NDIS participants, maintaining a clean and hygienic home is an important part of daily life — but it can also be physically challenging or time-consuming. The good news is that the NDIS can fund home cleaning support as part of a participant's plan.

Here's what participants, carers, and support coordinators in Parramatta need to know.

Can NDIS Fund Home Cleaning?

Yes. Home cleaning can be funded under the Assistance with Daily Life support category (formerly known as Core Supports). This category covers supports that help participants with daily tasks they can't do independently due to their disability.

To access cleaning support, it needs to be included in your NDIS plan. If it isn't currently included, you can request it at your next plan review by demonstrating how the support relates to your disability and your goals.

Who Can Access NDIS Cleaning Support?

NDIS cleaning support is available to participants who have a disability that makes it difficult to clean their home independently. This includes participants with physical disabilities, cognitive impairments, mental health conditions, and other eligible disabilities.

Plan-Managed vs Self-Managed Participants

SparkleClean works with both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants:

Plan-managed participants have a plan manager who handles invoicing and payments on their behalf. We invoice your plan manager directly, so there's no out-of-pocket cost to you.

Self-managed participants pay for services directly and then claim reimbursement from the NDIS. We provide all necessary invoices and documentation.

NDIA-managed (agency-managed) participants should check with their support coordinator, as this arrangement requires registration with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

What to Expect from Our NDIS Cleaning Service

Our NDIS cleaning service is designed to be flexible, respectful, and consistent. We understand that for many participants, having a stranger in their home can be anxiety-inducing, which is why we:

  • Aim to allocate the same cleaner to each participant for consistency
  • Communicate clearly about arrival times and any changes
  • Work at a pace that suits the participant
  • Liaise with support coordinators and carers as needed
  • Provide police-checked, trained cleaners
